I'm now part of a new collective called Mile-Inn. Mile Inn is a collective that houses hyper-specialized production boutiques that each have their own specialties. There are film production houses, music composition studios, VR studio, sound, photography... it's pretty exciting. It's a big ambitious project that will be unveiled gradually over the next year a half.
The most exciting aspect for me is being able to share and exchange ideas with artists in other disciplines and grow from it.
So yeah.. stay tuned :)
I recently shot a manifesto for a new exciting project lead by Philippe Meunier, Hélène Godin and Marie Amiot called FACTRY. Elyse Noël de Tilly, Guillaume Cardel and I pretty much had carte blanche to create a fun spot for the unveiling of FACTRY: school of creativity sciences. It's basically a hub for creative minds to come together and develop critical thinking, exchange ideas and learn different disciplines. In other words, architecture students will be able to sit down with fashion students and marketing students and cross-pollinate.
This project had a lot of firsts: first time working with Stephanie Beaudin at Mile-Inn, first time working with Benoit Morin (set decorator) and also my first time with Barry Russell, the D.O.P. It worked out great! We had a lot of fun and I think that translates. The concept was flexible but we had only three weeks from start to finish, so that helped a lot.
Oh and we got to rig a car... which I always love :D
The 2016 campaign for SLOCHE is out. I was approached in February to direct this year's campaign. This is my first production with the new company I work for, Mile-Inn. The concept was imagined by Léa Jeanmougin and Jean-Christian Bizier at Havas Worldwide. We conceptualized a new signature for the brand inspired by Norman McLaren's animation film "Neighbors". To demonstrate how it would work prior to shooting, by buddy Jason and I did some tests in the dance studio. The final effects were created by Fly Studio.
